Autumn Moon®
Autumn Moon® Products - The Best Asian Pears in the World!
Autumn Moon® Brand History
Linking Premium Asian Pears to the U.S. Market
Orchard Direct Inc is dedicated to delivering fresh, delicious, and nutritious fruits from our contracted farms to American consumers. We specialize in comprehensive global supply chain management, including growing, packing, distribution, and marketing. After the bilateral fresh pear export agreement between the United States and China in 2015, our company successfully imported the first container of Sand pears from China to the United States.
Autumn Moon®: Cultivation & Trademark Creation
In 2015, Orchard Direct introduced the Japanese Akizuki pear for experimental cultivation in Laiyang, Shandong Peninsula. We believed that this variety had significant market potential, not only in China but also in the United States. After consulting with our legal team, we successfully registered the trademark Autumn Moon® (Reg.No. 6,088,959) and the 秋月® trademark (Reg.No. 6,045,854). Later, the Green Autumn Moon® trademark was also designated for a Korean pear variety.
Autumn Moon®: Growing Market Recognition
We standardize orchard management and product quality while investing significantly in marketing efforts. As a result of our extensive promotion in the U.S. market, our brand began gaining recognition in 2021. Today, Autumn Moon® pears rank as the top-selling Asian pears in the United States' Asian Market and are gradually gaining acceptance among American consumers.
However, we have uncovered instances of illicit importers counterfeiting our trademark and packaging to distribute low-quality Asian pears, significantly damaging the reputation of the Autumn Moon® brand. To safeguard our rights, we are collaborating with the United States Customs and Border Protection and pursuing legal action in a United States federal court.
Autumn Moon® Business Partnership and Pricing Strategy
Our Autumn Moon pear business partners fall into two main categories: orchard partners and regional exclusive wholesalers. Due to the high cost and perishability of Autumn Moon pears, we apply stricter screening standards for partners selling this product compared to our other products. We require that our partners meet the following criteria: First, they must have a substantial customer base of high-end consumers, particularly affluent Asian consumers. Second, they must have advanced cold storage facilities and strong logistics and transportation capabilities.
In accordance with the Robinson-Patman Act, we adhere to three pricing principles: 1. We offer the same price terms to all customers at a given level of trade. 2. When costs vary, we provide different prices to different customers. 3. We set a reasonable manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) based on thorough market research and value positioning.
Factors affecting costs include:
- Whether there is a pre-established programmed procurement plan
- The quantity of the purchase order
- Whether a deposit or advance payment is made
- Whether there is a pre-established transportation and storage plan
- Whether the goods need to be stored in our warehouse
- Whether our trucks are required for transportation to the designated warehouse
- The timing of payments
- The level of cooperation in returns and exchanges
